"Blood, Sweat, and Luxury Problems" is a Dutch television program broadcast by BNN and produced by Endemol Netherlands. In this program, young people travel to developing countries, where they live for a few days alongside local workers and residents. The first season was filmed in Ethiopia and Bangladesh. In 2018, the Belgian television channel Eén aired its own version of this program.

Overview: Visit to a gold mine The young people are working this week in the gold mines of Badakessa in Ethiopia. They are literally and figuratively thrown in at the deep end and confronted with the harsh reality of life in the gold mine. Under the extreme conditions under which the local workers also produce this luxury product every day, they work very hard. With the money they earn, they have to survive among the locals. A real culture shock for the six who are used to privacy, luxury and comfort.

Overview: The group travels to the south of Ethiopia. In the town of Aleta Wondo, the six Dutchmen are confronted with the harsh reality of the coffee plantation. They live and work with the locals. The bewilderment is great when their wages are paid at the end of the day. The differences between rich and poor also become painfully palpable when the group is split up, three of them sleep with the boss of the plantation and the other three sleep with a working-class family.
